A.    Tourist Destination   :

1.      The Gili Islands
Three perfect coral islands, fringed with white sands and swaying palm trees, lay in the sparkling ocean just off the north west coast of Lombok Indonesia. For many years the Gilis have attracted visitors from arround the world for their pristine waters, great diving, relaxing holiday, snorkelling, party, laid back charm and much more..
The word of GILI means Small island so these islands are well known as Te Gilis by travellers, who have long considered them to be at least equal to the appeal of Thailand's and India's south coast. Over the past decade, each of the three islands has developed a unique personality or style, catering to different types of holiday makers and travellers.
There is no cars or motor bikes on the islands and the only mean transport are horse cart, locally known as cidomo. In other word are the perfect gateway for individual travellers, families, honeymooners, sun seekers or thoose who seek for a total relaxing holiday.

2.      Mount Rinjani National Park
Mt. Rinjani is the second highest peak in Indonesia and is a part of celebrated Ring of Fire. For the people of Lombok Sasak and Balinese a like, treated the mountain is a sacred place. They consider the Gods live at the top of the mountain. Segara Anak crater lake is the destination of thousand pilgrims who place offering in the water and take bathe to take away disease in the hot spring. The endemic duck Belibis is found here and several species of fish are recorded.
A model for echo tourism in Indonesia, It is trully an unforgetable experience to climb such impressive mountain as Rinjani and the 2 trek expeditions that offered and the spectacular scenery cwere contributing factors to Tinjani National Park winning the National Geographic World Tourism Award in 2004. Starting point for such a trek can begin at Senaru in the north ( or from Sembalun from the east), this three days trek attracts Rinjani from the west with a descent to awesome crater lake before again climbing up and out and on to summit.

3.      Kuta Beach and South Coast Lombok
The south coast of Lombok commonly known as the Kuta region. The bay of Kuta are are famous for the legend of Pantai Putri Nyale, cristal clear water, gorgeous white sandy beach and the fabolous surfing wave.
For those who look quiter places for holiday this area seem are good as the area are less bussy than the other tourism area on Lombok. There are various accommodations, its range from luxurious for star of Novotel hotel to the simple of Mimpi Manis home stay. However the big project are planned already to develop the south coast and kuta area. Surfing, swimming and laze under the sun shine are famoust activities, surfing on this area offer unforgetable experience as the most repeater surfer from all over the world back visited Kuta and South coast.

4.      Senggigi Beach Town and Resort
Senggigi is the most developed tourist area on Lombok. You can find variety of tourism attraction and tourism facilities such as Restaurant, cafe, discothèques, Bars, which is line up on the street. Cafes and restaurants most located on the main beach road and the beaches is safe for swim. Most of visitor start their visit and stay at Senggigi, the oldest famous tourist resort area. In last three years Senggigi has improved significantly.

5.      Sekotong
The future tourism development. Travelling down south, past Lembar harbour, the landscape is stunning beauty, with rolling hils on the left and small rural villages sheltering in green valleys. On the right, the ocean streches out, sparkling blue blue in the clear sunshine. which each corner you turn in the twisting coastal road, new vistas greet you. Reaching Sekotong and the township of Taun, the ocean pools into a beautiful large bay that sweeps in a majestic arc of clean white sand and turquoise water. Sekotong area are waiting to be explorer as a new tourism area on Lombok. 

6.      Mayura Park
This park was built in 1744 by Lombok's King Anak Agung Ngurah Karang Asem. The center piece of the garden is a delightful pool, in the middle of which is a Bale Kambang (floating house), its used for judicial lawsuit or important meetings. The temple and park is influence either by Moslem and Hindu culture, it's shown from the statues surroundings it building.

7.      Meru Temple
Meru Temple located is in Cakranegara, was built in 1720 under the instruction of Anak Agung Gede Karang Asem. This temple situated on opposite of Mayura temple and short walking distance from Cakranegara traditional market.

8.      NTB Museum
This Museum shaped to resemble a Sasak dweling is located on Jalan Panji Tilar, ampenan. The historical artifactsof the Museum collection included a 1239 manuscript which is the ancient history sbout the island and wrote in native langguage which is not longer used as the next was wrote on dried palm leaves, bark and bamboo.

9.      Bayan and Sade Village
A distinct feature of religion here is what is known as Wektu Telu, a syncretic belief of Islam intertwined with elements of Hinduism, Buddhism, and ancient traditional beliefs, unique to Lombok.  Many Sasak have, nonetheless, also come to embrace the Wektu Lima, or the mainstream Islamic obligatory five time prayers in a day. There is also a small minority whose faith is called Bodha, a syncretic belief of animism and Buddhism.  Nonetheless, despite differences in religious beliefs, the Sasak live in harmony among themselves.
The most ancient Sasak village is the village of Bayan, near the foot of Mt. Rinjani, which is the stronghold of the Wektu Telu, but most frequented by visitors are the villages of Sade and Rembitan, close to Mataram. Here villagers disregard their modernising surroundings and continue to live in the old tradition.

10.  Suranadi
A complex of three temple located a few kilometers north of Narmada in Suranadi, is the oldest and the holiest of the Balinese temples in Lombok, founded by the 16th century Javanese priest, Danghyang Nirartha. Underground steams bubble up into restored baths, used for ritual. Huge sacred eels live in the pools and streams here, and can sometimes be lured out with an offering of boiled eggs, To see a sacred eel is considered very lucky!

11.  Banyumulek
Easily reached on the road south to Lembar harbour, is an important center for pottery on Lombok. The small village is packaged with shops selling pottery produce in the area, as well as from the other main pottery making villages such as Penujak and Masbagik. Lombok pottery, with its distinctive terracotta styles, has become famous internationally and is exported throughout the world.

B.     Tourist Event             :

1.      Bau Nyale
Annually, on the 20th day of the 10th month on the traditional Sasak Calendar, which falls around February each year, theSasak people celebrate the traditional ceremony of Bau Nyale.  Bau in the Lombok language means “to-catch” and Nyale is a type of sea worm that surfaces only around this time of the year. Therefore, Bau Nyale is the festive ceremony when large crowds catch the Nyale along a number of Lombok’s finest beaches.The Sasak are the dominant ethnic group inhabiting the island of Lombok, in West Nusatenggara.

2.   Nyongkolan
Nyongkolan is a traditional activity that accompanies a series of events in the marriage procession on ethnic Sasak in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. this activity in the form of a procession of the bride and groom from the groom to the bride's house, accompanied by his family and relatives of the groom, wearing traditional clothing, as well as music group or groups that could gamelan drummers tambourine, or drum with beleq the nobility. In practice, because of the distance, the procession was not carried out literally, but usually the group began to walk a distance of 1 to 0.5 miles from the home of the bride.
The purpose of this procession is to introduce the couple to the community, especially among relatives and the community in which the bride's residence, because usually the whole series of events held at the wedding the bridegroom.

3.  Pakelem Rinjani
Mulang Pekelem is a ceremony in which prayers and offerings are made for the safety and prosperity of the people. It dates from a time shortly after the Hindu settlement in west Lombok in which the population was afflicted by prolonged drought and an epidemic.

4.  Perang Topat
Topat war is a traditional event held in Lingsar, Lombok. This war is a symbol of peace between Muslims and Hindus in Lombok. The event was conducted in the afternoon, every full moon in a calendar seventh Sasak. The afternoons were a highlight of the show is performed after Asr prayers, or in the language of the Sasak "rarak hibiscus flower" (deciduous hibiscus flowers) sign is used by the parents first to know Ashar prayers .. ‘War’ is done by throwing a diamond among the Muslim community with the Hindu community. 5.  Rebo Bontong
Rebo Bontong implies: "Rebo" and "Bontong" / "loses" which means breaking up so that when given a prefix pe into the breaker. Rebo ceremony Bontong dimakusdkan to reject bala '(disaster / disease), conducted once every year just in the last week Wednesday in the month of Safar (Hijri calendar). According to the belief that the day Sasak Bontong Rebo is a peak occurring reinforcements (disaster / disease), so it is still believed to not starting a job on Wednesday Bontong, Rebo bontong is also used for celebrations to welcome the month Rabi`ul Earlier, the moon prophet Muhammad's birth.

6.  Lebaran Topat
Topat Eid is a tradition that carried the Sasak people of Lombok week after Eid Mubarak. Eid Topat is basically a 'small widths' after completion Muslims Sunnah to fast the month of Shawwal, ie fasting for 6 consecutive days after the day of Eid.

C.        Tourist Attraction     :

1.    Gendang Beleq

Gendang Beleq is a traditional musical instrument which is played in group. Gendang Beleq derived from Sasak, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. Origin of the word comes from the sound itself, the sound comes from the deng or dung. Beleq is Sasak language means big .Gendang Beleq means big drum.

2.    Peresean
Peresean is a fight between two men armed with rattan sticks (stranding) and armored buffalo leather is thick and hard (shield called ende) is done by the community .This tradition usually do by community of  Sasak Ethnic, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, including in dance Indonesia.Peresean is one of  Lombok’s art. Fighter in Peresean usually called pepadu and the referee called Pakembar.

3.    Rudat
Rudat is a traditional dance from the Sasak, Lombok, Nusa Tenggara Barat. Rudat is like a matrials art. Because there is a movement to hit, kick, put the horses, and ward. This dance used in welcoming guests and formal occasions government.



4.    Male’an Sampi
Male'an Sampi Festival of Lombok is a famous one that is celebrated with much so fun. The Male'an Sampi Festival of Lombok is unique for the reason that unlike other festivals, the Male'an Sampi Festival of Lombok is a power-charged game ritual. People have been known the Male’an Sampi Festival since 18 century in the government of Japan era in Indonesia.
